Bishop Leon Brokaw was a faithful, honest, steadfast man of God, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest desire was to glorify God and share His mercy, love, and truth with others so that they too could know how wonderful life could be alongside our Maker. He touched lives all over the world, and his heart remained confidently assured in the hope of Christ, even in the face of wild unknowns.

Bishop Brokaw was born on October 5, 1940 and grew up in Exeter, California with his parents, Melford and Evelyn Brokaw, and his sister, Yvonne. At the age of 16, he committed his life to serving God, and spent the remainder of his life in the ministry. He married Ruth Ann Rutherford on March 25, 1961, when he was 20 years old, and had three children.

Together with his loving wife, Ruth, he shared a true passion for the ministry. Leon first served as a youth pastor in Houston, Texas and San Jose, California. Then he moved on to be a pastor in Turlock, California; Portland, Oregon; and  Heritage Church of Visalia, California.

During his days of ministry, Leon served as Professor of Theology at Texas Bible College in Huston, Texas and at his alma mater, Christian Life College in Stockton, California. He held several district positions in his earlier days, and was honored with the title of Bishop by his ministerial association later in life.
